Workshop
Synthesis
Workshops/Discussions where the methodologies of analyses of Lacan, Levi-Strauss and Barthes, among others will be used on cases of designs contributed by the participants. Interested participants will submit a digitized image of their interest or responsibility a day before the workshop and these images will guide the debate and will allow us to raise the axes of interest in relation to the construction of meaning, identity and difference in the speeches of the visual contact.
Objectives
To take from actual cases of design a perspective that allows for creation, from the collective reflection to the consequences of the act of representing that takes place when designing, to be discussed. Read more
To accomplish that, a support scheme contributed by the discourse will be used, in which before the workshop, relevant examples will be exchanged for those images that the participants submit. Starting at this point the quest is to get closer to the roots and consequences of the professional practice, deepening the analysis of the image and its effects on the individual. This ideological discussion is framed in the definitions of the power of the image and its bond and symmetry with the power of the objects, myths, narrations, history, space and nationality.
Methodology
Theoretical material on areas such as philosophy and politics, which are uncommon to find among professional designers, will be applied to the the submitted images of the participants in such a way as to get the most of the contents of this material and to encourage any discussion that arises from them. It is from here that the seminar will lead to the analysis based on different authors from other disciplines. Alongside a discussion of the property of these ideas and the different currents of thought that they promote, certain authors will be recommended for those who are interested in continuing investigating the paths that will appear.
